Supported Independent Living

SUPPORTED INDEPENDENT LIVING

A home where independence and support work together

Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services provide 24/7 assistance in homes where people can live more independently while still having the right support close by. We help with daily routines, personal care, cooking, community access, and building confidence around the home. Each house is designed to feel welcoming and stable — a real home, not a service setting. You’ll be supported by a consistent team who understand your goals, respect your space, and encourage independence every day.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Understanding Supported Independent Living

Here’s what people often ask when exploring SIL options with EIH Care.

What kind of support is available in SIL homes?

Support includes personal care, cooking, cleaning, medication management, transport, and help with community access. We also assist with skill development so you can do more independently over time.

Are SIL homes staffed all the time?

Yes. Each home has trained staff available 24/7 to provide care, supervision, and support as needed. Overnight assistance ensures safety and peace of mind.

Can I choose who I live with?

Absolutely. You’ll have ultimate choice – we provide options to live with people who share your interests, values, and lifestyle. We take the time to find housemates who complement your personality and bring out the best in each other. Our goal is to create homes where friendships grow naturally, and every day feels comfortable and uplifting.

How are SIL homes different from Short-Term Accommodation?

SIL is long-term, providing stable housing and consistent support. Short-Term Accommodation is temporary - often used for respite, recovery, or trying out independent living before moving into SIL. See what vacancies are currently on offer.

Do you help people find the right SIL home?

Yes. We’ll talk with you and your support network to understand what kind of home, location, and support level suits you best. We’ll also guide you through NDIS funding and transition planning.
