PALLIATIVE CARE

Comfort, dignity, and compassion at home

Our palliative care service supports people with life-limiting illness to live with comfort, dignity, and peace in their own home. We focus on easing symptoms, reducing stress, and maintaining quality of life — for both clients and families. Our nurses and support staff work closely with doctors, palliative specialists, and loved ones to ensure care is coordinated and responsive. It’s about making each day meaningful, surrounded by familiar faces and the warmth of home.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Understanding in-home palliative care

Palliative care at home can bring peace and comfort to people and families. Here are answers to common questions about how we provide that support.

What does palliative care at home include?

It includes pain and symptom management, emotional support, personal care, and help with medications or medical equipment. We also support family members with guidance, respite, and compassionate presence.

Who provides palliative care through EIH Care?

Our team includes registered nurses, trained support workers, and coordinators who liaise with your GP and palliative specialists. Everyone involved works together to ensure your care is seamless and respectful.

Can I still have my regular doctor involved?

Absolutely. We’ll always collaborate with your preferred doctor or health team. Our nurses can share updates, follow their guidance, and make sure everyone stays informed about your care plan.

Is palliative care available 24 hours a day?

Yes. We can arrange care around the clock, including overnight and weekend support, depending on your needs and location. Our aim is to provide stability and reassurance for both clients and families.

Do you offer bereavement or family support?

Yes. We know palliative care affects everyone involved. Our team can connect families with grief counselling, respite, and community supports during and after the care period.
